Learn how to respond confidently and effectively to electrical incidents β with a particular focus on the risks found in railway environments, but applicable to any industry where electricity is present.
Working safely around electricity requires more than standard first aid knowledge. This fully online, self-paced course teaches you essential emergency response principles for electrical accidents, including treatment for burns and shock.
Developed by an experienced and assured railway trainer, it mirrors Network Railβs official training structure and meets the standards of a Richardson Training β Level 1 qualification.
Learners who wish to demonstrate practical skills can upgrade to the blended learning option (online theory + classroom practical), leading to a Richardson Training Level 2 equivalent certification.
This course is ideal for anyone who needs to understand first aid principles and the additional precautions required when electricity is involved. While tailored for the railway sector, the first aid methods taught β including treatment of electrical injuries β apply equally across other high-risk industries.
No prior qualifications or certifications are required.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
The training is divided into ten structured lessons:
Each lesson includes video explanations, interactive quizzes, and case-based scenarios to ensure full understanding. The course is time-controlled to protect learning integrity, though you may take extra time if needed.
To achieve certification, you must pass the final knowledge assessment. A digital certificate of completion (valid for three years) will be issued upon success.
