This focused e-learning course builds practical confidence in dealing with electrical incidents — from short circuits and arcing to electrical burns and shock. Learners progress through clear video topics with interactive self-checks, then complete a final knowledge quiz to earn their certificate. This is Freeflow, meaning the content can be completed in any order and as quick, or slow, as learners want.

Who is it for?

• Anyone who may encounter electrical risks at work (e.g., rail, engineering, maintenance, facilities, office & depot environments).
• The course is focused on railway electrical incidents, but the principals can be applied to any industry.

What you’ll learn

• Recognise how electrical accidents happen (short circuits, arcing, contact injuries).
• Immediate first aid priorities: make-safe, cooling burns ≥20 minutes, non-adherent coverings, removing constrictions, monitoring for shock.
• Managing shock: positioning, warmth, reassurance, observation until help arrives.
• When and how to escalate (999/112), and what to record/report.

• Final quiz with an 80% pass mark and unlimited attempts.
